Near the end of my most recent audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, I put my palms together, bowed to him, and solemnly asked, “Your Holiness, what is the most important thing I can do for you and the Tibetan people?”

He replied with a huge smile, “When you meet Chinese people, you tell them you met the Dalai Lama a few times and he’s very nice.”

“That’s it?” I ask.  “That’s it,” he replied.

And then he laughed out loud.

I so love that guy.
